Learning a cheer routine during the Girls Skill Program
Cheerleading/ Gymnastics 2009
A terrific opportunity for the young girl
to learn the basic art of cheerleading fundamentals plus the proper skills of

A psychological study found that children in martial arts have an increased sense of self-esteem and responsibility and a decrease in their willingness to take foolish risks. YOUTH BOWLING TOURNAMENT
Each bowler will compete in three games with the use of their own handicaps from previous league play or a handicap will be established by the tournament judges at the conclusion of three games. Boys and girls compete separately in their own age groups. Trophies will be awarded.

SILVER SKATES ICE SKATING DERBY & SNOWBALL ARCHERY
Contestants compete in races of various lengths (depending upon age groups) and the best times qualify for awards. Snowball archery contestants will test their ability to accurately hit an archery target with a snowball from various distances. Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded in both of the contests. Boys & girls compete separately and no level of skill is required.

SNOW SCULPTURE CONTEST
Let your imagination run wild and be creative in the snow! When your snow sculpture is complete, call the Park District Administrative Office and someone will come take a picture of your sculpture. Prizes will be awarded on the basis of size, detail, and creative ideas at the end of the contest.

FREE THROW CONTEST
The Free Throw Contest tests the ability of each participant to make free throws. The most free throws made out of 30 shots will be the winner in each age category in boys, girls, womens' & mens divisions. First place trophies are awarded in all age categories.

13th ANNUAL IPRA/BULL 2BALL COMPETITION
2BALL is an innovative basketball game played by a two player team. Each team has one minute to score as many baskets as possible from any of the designated shooting spots on the game court. Each shooting spot is worth a different point value based on the difficulty of the basket. The highest scoring teams advance to the designated area competition.

11th ANNUAL MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL DIAMOND SKILLS COMPETITON
This competition allows children the opportunity to showcase their batting, throwing and base-running abilities. For participating in the local event, each participant receives a baseball item, and the chance to advance to a designated sectional competition. Advancement requires the participant to win the all-around batting, throwing and base-running championship.
