YOUTH BOWLING INSTRUCTION

 

This class teaches the fundamentals such as approach, hand position, delivery and follow through. Fees include shoe rental, bowling costs and instruction. 

 

AGE:                 6 - 13

GIRLS SKILL PROGRAM 




Cheerleading/ Gymnastics 2009


A terrific opportunity for the young girl to learn the basic art of cheerleading fundamentals plus the proper skills of building crowd enthusiasm. Participants in this program will learn floor cheers, sidelines, simple mounts, and basic tumbling techniques.

Dance/Pom Pon Instruction

 

Future cheerleaders or dancers will enjoy this class! Basic dance moves are incorporated into dance/pom pan routines. Two pom pons for each participant are included in the price of the program.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAM FALL

We have made a positive change to our Tot Time Program!

The afternoon class has been expanded to 2 1/2 hours to help facilitate scheduling for you and your older children. We also want to remind you that not only is this program open to 4 year old children, we will also take children that are 5 years old but do not qualify to begin kindergarten.



 

TOT TIME

 

Just for little people! Your child will have the opportunity to interact with others his/ her age in a educational and recreational atmosphere. A variety of arts and crafts, games, storytelling, and field trips are only a few of the activities happening in this exciting program.

Tae-Kwon-Do (Korean Karate)

Little Dragons Karate

SPECIAL EVENTS 



35th Annual Punt, Pass & Kick

Sponsored by the NFL & Gatorade.  Each participant will perform one punt, one pass and one place kick.  Scores are determined by  distance and accuracy.  Participants are eligible in only one local event.  Winners move on to Sectional Competition.

HALLOWEEN COLORING CONTEST


Test your talents and creativity by coloring a Halloween picture.  Rules and a free Halloween picture will be available on October 1st. Prizes are awarded on Halloween.

LETTERS TO SANTA!


Word from the north Pole is that the Park District has been named the local distribution point for answers to letters to Santa Claus. All boys and girls can write to Santa Claus in care of the Coloma Township Park District, P.O. Box 562, Rock Falls, Illinois, 61071.  All letters will receive a reply and should include a self stamped, self-addressed (with the child's full name and address printed  very clearly) envelope so that Santa's helpers know where to send the reply.

Youth Bowling Tournament

Each bowler will compete in three games with the use of their own handicaps from previous league play or a handicap will be established by the tournament judges at the conclusion of three games.  Boys and girls will compete separately in their own age groups.  Trophies will be awarded.

HUNTER SAFETY INSTRUCTION


CLASSES FOR THIS YEAR HAVE ALREADY TAKEN PLACE. PLEASE SEE THE IDNR WEBSITE FOR OTHER CLASS POSSIBILITIES


 

Proper usage of firearms (handling guns in the classroom) including textbook work will be taught.  Partcipants under 16 years of age are required by State Law to complete this course prior to receiving a hunting license.  All other participants will receive a State Certificate for successful completion of the course. 

 

Participants MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS to receive a hunting license.  They will be allowed to fire a gun (these firearms will be provided by the instructors) on the NRA approved firing range under the supervision of State Certified instructors.

 

SINNISSIPPI ROD & GUN CLUB WILL PROVIDE FIREARMS. PARTICIPANTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING THEIR OWN GUNS.

GENERAL INFORMATION


Registration

Fall programs will run for a four or six  week period unless otherwise noted.  Programs begin the week of August 31st.  Please check each program carefully for correct information.  Due to circumstances beyond our control, sessions during this time may have to be postponed or rescheduled and we will make every effort to make up sessions at another time.  The Coloma Township Park District reserves the right to cancel a program due to insufficient registration or to close a program if filled.  All persons planning to attend the Park District programs must register at the Park District Administrative Office ONLY, prior to the start of the programs!  All programs listed in this brochure are contingent upon sufficient enrollment.  All programs cancelled by the Park District due to insufficient registration will be refunded in full.  NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED ONCE A PROGRAM HAS BEGUN.  Refunds may be obtained prior to the first program meeting.  NO TELEPH0NE REGISTRATION will be accepted for recreation programs.
